Greetings, Westchester Buddhist Center community!
We would like to invite you to join us in celebration of Losar, the Tibetan New Year, on February 22nd at Eileen Fisher Headquarters, 2 Bridge Street, Irvington (see directions and map). In our tradition, it is also known as Shambhala Day. You may come for any part or all of it.
This traditional celebration will run from 10am to 4pm and will include the recitation of The Sadhana of Mahamudra. The Sadhana was composed in 1968 by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, and its recitation is a practice that is done in a public setting, only on special occasions. If you have a copy of the Sadhana, please bring it along as available copies are limited.
The practice of the Sadhana will run from 10 - noon, and will be followed by a celebratory lunch provided by WBC as our gift to the community. At 1:30pm, following lunch, there will be a special Losar program (stories, readings, performances, singing of the Shambhala Anthem and concluding toasts). Coincidentally, Losar/Shambhala Day falls at the same time as the 6th anniversary of Westchester Buddhist Center!
We hope you will be able to join us, and we look forward to a wonderful celebration with all of you!!! Festive attire!!!
