ABOUT THIS COURSE

Join us at Eileen Fisher Headquarters in Irvington as we explore the fundamentals of the Tibetan Buddhist path together. We meet at 12:30 on Sundays, right after our usual WBC morning program and tea and coffee reception. In this series of classes, we will explore important Buddhist topics such as the life of the Buddha, the types, techniques and stages of meditation, the development of ego, working with emotions, karma, and so forth. The exploration will be in a sequential manner and will reflect the experience of the practitioner. Readings for each class will be from a wide variety of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche’s writings.

Each class will begin with meditation, followed by a talk and then discussion. This series is recommended for both beginning and returning practitioners. The requested donation for both segments is $160, or $90 for one segment, or $15 per class on a drop-in basis.*

Please note that class meetings are always open to all at any point in the sequence. A printed source book of carefully selected readings from Trungpa Rinpoche’s many books will be provided (a digital version will be posted online), and readings for each individual class will be available online in advance for those dropping in.

The courses are designed to benefit participants whether or not they can attend regularly. Those who can attend consistently and keep up with the readings will gain a detailed appreciation of the natural progressive evolution that the Tibetan Buddhist path depicts. But any class meeting would be informative and accessible for anyone dropping in, or attending semi-regularly. As always, audio recordings of the talks will be made available online.
