The Voice of the Brush with Barbara Bash
A One-Day Creative Workshop at Westchester Buddhist Center
Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, from 10 am-5 pm
Eileen Fisher Headquarters, 2 Bridge Street, Irvington, NY 10533
Please join us for a lively and enriching day exploring the creative process! This is a special opportunity for anyone interested in alive expression to work directly with one of our community’s most accomplished artists, Barbara Bash. Beginning with big brush strokes, held by universal principles, we will move into personal free writing, following the life momentum and bringing what is inside us out onto the page. Ending with collaborative writing in three-line poems guided by ancient forms, fresh and real in the moment. No previous art experience needed, just an open mind!
Barbara Bash is a calligrapher, illustrator and author with an interest in Buddhist sensibility as expressed through western art forms. She has been a longtime Shambhala practitioner and meditation instructor. Her book, True Nature: An Illustrated Journal of Four Seasons in Solitude, explored the mixing of meditation with nature journaling. Barbara has taught creative process and expressive brush with many populations, exploring new forms of visual learning. She has also trained in Nonviolent Communication and Focusing, weaving these communication practices into her teaching.
