ABOUT THE COURSE
This course will continue the detailed presentation of the Hinayana or “Path of Individual Liberation” provided in the first volume of the recently published three-volume set, The Profound Treasury of the Ocean of Dharma. These texts are a wonderfully edited compilation of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche's teachings given at thirteen years of annual three-month seminary programs for advanced students, recently made available for a broader audience in these volumes.
The topics covered in the Spring 2019 section build directly on those covered in Fall 2018 and Winter 2019, and focus on Vipashyana or the practice of awareness, and the four noble truths—the foundational teaching of buddha dharma—as realized experientially through practice.** Trungpa Rinpoche’s presentation of the Hinayana emphasizes closely joining meditation with study. The course is an integral part of the WBC core curriculum.
* WBC maintains a policy of making our programs affordable to all. Those with limited income please offer what you can afford on our donation page
** The remaining topics in The Profound Treasury of the Ocean of Dharma, Volume One, will be covered in the Fall 2019 Intermediate Course.
A similar course is also offered in Mt. Kisco: Direct Path of Buddhadharma Course Series, Wednesday Evenings in Mt. Kisco. LEARN MORE >
